AFTER the blizzard of yellow cards and barrage of Welsh penalties, Martin Johnson's grand plan to restore England to their former glory is now being hit by the plummeting pound.

With at least three England players ready to jump aboard the French gravy train, clubs on both sides of the Channel cite the sharp rise of the euro as a major factor behind what threatens to be an exodus of international players from the Guinness Premiership to Le Championnat, the French Top 14. Leicester, Britain's biggest club, acknowledge the trend as 'a significant issue for the English game'.
