Summary
STATE OF PLAY This was unbelievable TV. The plot was about a rising MP, who has an affair, and his friendship with a newspaper journalist. It was sexy, exciting and punchy, and dealt with complex issues about political correctness and the press. David Morrissey was magnificent as the politician whose world was falling apart - definitely one of his finest roles. John Simm was also admirable as the journalist.
EDNA, THE INEBRIATE WOMAN Patricia Hayes played the itinerant tramp who ends up in court with such energy and poise that I began thinking about becoming an actor.
