HOLYROOD politicians are being asked if they would like a massive rise in their already lavish pensions that would cost taxpayers an extra Pounds 1million a year.

At present, MSPs receive an inflation-proof payout worth one- fiftieth of their salaries for every year they serve at the Scottish parliament.
