AFTER reading in Out Of The Mouths Of Babes ( Peterborough) about the child who wanted a penny for a 'puppy', I was reminded of when I was a collector for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

On one occasion, a young woman put five pence in the collection box and proceeded to take a poppy for each of her four children.
