THE media are becoming increasingly incensed with this MPs' expenses fiasco, but what has changed in the past 50-odd years? I recall my mother and grandmother, in the Fifties and Sixties, saying many MPs and councillors were corrupt -- and still are.
My grandmother, who died in 1966, used to say it didn't matter who you voted for as they were all in it simply to line their own pockets, by taking backhanders, fiddling expenses or whatever.
