A HEADTEACHER yesterday attacked his pupils for risking bad exam results by working 25-hour weeks while at the same time pocketing grants aimed at encouraging them to stay on at school.

Writing in his school magazine, George Haggarty said the new Education Maintenance Allowance ( EMA) scheme under which pupils aged over 16 are paid Pounds 30 a week if they continue their education had backfired.
