THERE was surprise in the television industry that a commercial for the film The Damned United was shown in an ad break during ITV Sport's documentary about Brian Clough.

The programme was used as a vehicle to rebut the perceived wrongs in the film -- based on the David Peace book that so upset the Clough family -- about the manager's 44 days at Leeds.
