LIVERPOOL extended their winning run to nine Premiership games and turned up the heat on Everton manager David Moyes on a night when champions Chelsea increased their lead at the top to 11 points.

On a freezing evening which saw three Premiership games, at Newcastle, Blackburn and Bolton, called off and a temperature of minus four degrees recorded at The Hawthorns, Liverpool provided warmth for their fans with a 3-1 victory over their bitter rivals in the Merseyside derby.
