Summary

WHAT'S to be done with Billy, a 'born to hunt' Patterdale Terrier puppy, who thinks he has a right to chase sheep, cows, horses, cats, chickens and even deer? Not have him as a pet, obviously. Failing that, keep him on a lead. But that's so boring, especially when his non-chasing companion in McKay custody, a collie-lab cross called Tia Maria, never needs one and can roam free.

I bought an 'electric' collar meant to give Billy a shock, ranging from one to nine in power, if he failed to return when called. It was a total failure. He either didn't feel the shock or decided to ignore it. Why didn't he react like electrocuted dogs on the Simpsons cartoon Itchy and Scratchy every hair standing on end, along with his tail, eyes popping out on stalks, his skeleton flashing up as volts surged through his hooligan frame? What a letdown.
