PLANS to build a second Thames barrier are being urgently considered after an official report warned that London is becoming increasingly vulnerable to catastrophic flooding.

Experts fear the existing barrage, built in 1983 at Woolwich, might no longer be able to cope with the increased flood threats caused by climate change.
