RAY CONNOLLY'S problem with being asked to masquerade as a female author (Mail) resonated with me because I am suffering from the flipside of this problem. I am a woman who writes thrillers.
Women are expected to write romance, chick lit and sagas. They are deemed capable of writing general fiction and crime, but they can't, apparently, write thrillers.
