RAY CONNOLLY'S problem with being asked to masquerade as a female author (Mail) resonated with me because I am suffering from the flipside of this problem. I am a woman who writes thrillers.

Women are expected to write romance, chick lit and sagas. They are deemed capable of writing general fiction and crime, but they can't, apparently, write thrillers. Many people of both sexes have read and enjoyed my books. They are fast-paced, action-packed, gripping and well-researched.
