Summary

Live Carling Cup Football: Arsenal v Liverpool 7pm, Sky Sports 1 While Liverpool scraped past Leeds 1-0 in their third-round tie, Arsenal relied on youth players to knock out West Bromwich Albion in north London. Up-and-coming Gunners Sanchez Watt and Carlos Vela scored the goals, and it is just such players who will be hoping for a game against the Reds. Despite the strength of the opposition, Arsene Wenger is likely to stick with his policy of blooding the younger members of his squad in this competition, so expect to see a different Arsenal side from the one usually chosen for Premiership games taking to the pitch.

Cricket: India v Australia 8.55am, Sky Sports 1 India and Australia again lock horns in the second match in a seven-game series. Recently crowned the winners of the ICC Champions Trophy, the Australians remain the side to beat in limited-overs games.
