In the Street, she plays eccentric theatre actress Martha, who brings a touch of style to the cobbled streets of Weatherfield and rocks Ken's marriage to long-suffering Deirdre.

Ken first encounters Martha while walking his dog near her canal barge home. Their relationship begins as a friendship, but he soon falls for her, profoundly grateful for the retreat she offers from his troubled domestic life. In Dynasty, her rival was the equally bitchy Alexis Carrington, played by Joan Collins. In Corrie, she will be targeted by the sharp tongue of Ken's mother-in-law, Blanche.
