QUESTION I recently saw the movie Dangerous Moonlight (1941) starring the wonderful Sally Gray. What did she do afterwards? BEAUTIFUL, husky-voiced Sally Gray had talent as an actress and singer, having been put on stage as a child by her ballerina mother and trained at the Fay Compton Studio of Dramatic Art.

She made her film debut at 14 in a 1930 film version of Sheridan's School For Scandal -- with Anna Neagle and Rex Harrison.

Between 1935 and 1941, Sally appeared in 18 films, her parts becoming bigger as she gained popularity. Although she worked for well-known directors and with some of Britain's best performers, most of the films are not memorable except The Lambeth Walk in which she played the lead opposite Lupino Lane in the reworking of his stage musical Me And My Girl.
