Who's Done More for Britain

On the right are just 12 of the 16,000 heroes who have given their lives in the service of their country since World War II.

Their names were due to appear on a circular wall being built of Portland stone at the monument.

But now they will only be honoured if the public contributes to an appeal fund because the Big Lottery Fund doesn't consider the project a good enough cause.
