AS THE Royal Academy opens its annual Summer Exhibition this week, thousands of artists across the country will be nursing their frustration at not having their work accepted. And like me, they'll probably be wondering why. It was my eighth attempt, and I entered an oil painting I felt quite optimistic about. I've been to many summer shows and have a good idea of what gets in.
My small painting, called Waiting, was a metaphor for the way most people in life are waiting for things to happen. I'm a practising artist who has had many exhibitions, and this month I have work in three shows, including a solo show.
